I really enjoyed doing this project because it included two things I love; drawing people and with pencil crayons. Pencil crayons are my favourite medium to draw with. They are smooth and I love bright colour. I also loved working with the light watercolour because it does not take away from the face. This project is complete because I am satisfied with my colour scheme and all mediums I used. For the nose and mouth, I used blind contour. For the eyes, hair and body I used broken contour. I did not use my classmates drawings of the features because I felt they did not go well with my style of drawing. Also I wanted to have large features and the drawing I received was small. My colour scheme is something I am really proud of. I used cool colours for shadows and warm colours for lights on skin. The background, hair and shirt I decided to switch up and do it differently so I did a subtle pattern and I used light watercolours. I believe I was successful in making it interesting and having something to draw your eye to because of the soft background and vivid face. I also think I effectively used the mediums correctly and many different types, both the pencil crayon and water colours and even a bit of collage in the tie. I could improve evening the background colour so it is not so splotchy and making the lines on the shirt the same thickness the whole way across. I struggled with using the watercolours without making it splotchy and I think I just need more practice. Overall, a very fun project that I could use many different mediums on which was amazing.
